Action Branching Condition Not Satisfied

(0) ShareShare

Hello all,

Thanks for the help with my flow so far - I've got one step further I think!

The condition seems to work better:

But the "send an email" keeps getting skipped:

ActionBranchingConditionNotSatisfied
The execution of template action 'Send_an_email_(V2)_1' skipped: the branching condition for this actio

Can anyone help?

Thanks so much,
Gareth.

Instead of using the NULL operator, you're likely getting a blank value returned. Power Automate doesn't like to compare blank values in a Condition statement, so you'll need to first initialize a string variable, call it strBlank or whatever you want, and don't put anything in the Initial Value. Then compare your Excel output to strBlank.

I've added the string variable, but I just get this on test:

@GM-12081511-0 What's the error message? Is it on the Condition action or an action inside of the Condition?

@Tomac: This is the full view.

On apply to each and condition, it says "
    ActionFailed
An action failed. No dependent actions succeeded.

And then in email, it just says Bad Request?

I would use an expression to check if the value is empty and that it is not equal to false.

The expression on the left is empty(items('Apply_to_each')?['Form name'])

You will not be able to choose your field from the dynamic content when building the expression. You either need to manually enter it in the format above, or a simple step is to put your field in a compose action and then view it in code view and copy it from the code:

I find this method to be less problematic.

@GM-12081511-0 So the problem is in your Send An Email action. Bad Request generally means the To field is invalid. Can you go back into that completed run and expand the Send An Email action, and show the full inputs so we can see what Power Automate is working with for the email address? We'll also need to know what dynamic value you're using for the To field and where that value is coming from.

@David_MA Thanks, that appears to work within the apply to each and condition but the email step keeps getting skipped with the same error message:

    ActionBranchingConditionNotSatisfied
The execution of template action 'Send_an_email_(V2)_1' skipped: the branching condition for this actio

In the send the email, I have this:

Is there something wrong I've entered in this step?

    Thanks!

    Here's the send an email:

The 'to' field is dynamic content from the excel spreadsheet - similar things have worked for me in the past!

@GM-12081511-0 Please go into a completed run and expand the Send An Email action, and show the full inputs so we can see what Power Automate is working with for the email address?

I'm guessing the error is in that Excel is handing off to Power Automate for this field.

    @Tomac

This is when I click on send an email...

This is the code view if that helps?
