Group Ms Form Points Not Capture to Populate Result

Hi everyone,

I had created a flow when a group Ms Form is submitted for quiz, it will look at the Total points column to generate the Pass or Fail result via email to the student. Anyone point is 4 or greater will receive a congratulation email and the opposite if below 4. What i experience the Pass or Fail email will randomly work. Most time it will trigger fail email because it capture 0 point when there are point (1/2/3/4/5) in the workbook. I had a delay flow since i learn the there could be delay to indicate the point in the workbook but it still fail to make it work without flaw. I had seek various AI help but to no avail. Hoping someone can assist here. I have attach the flow for viewing.

Is the form being used to upload the Excel file?  Otherwise the responses to the quiz should be in the form. There is no reason to try to load them from the Excel file that is created by the response submission.

    Hi,

The quiz result is only available in the excel file (table) after the points were populated. Unless i am missing something here.

The answers to the quiz are available as response details.  You'll need to assign the points for each question in the flow, but it will be much more reliable than trying to get them from the Excel file. As you've seen the timing of the Excel file update is very unpredictable.

So your advice is not to use the built in auto populated total points which is unpredictable. How do you advice to assign point for each questions in the flow? This ms quiz form is a dedicated and recycle form where whenever i conduct quiz i will use the same form hence it has many past quizzes. Different quiz i created different section. Further it is not effective to have individual form when the questions are only 5.

The auto populate isn't unreliable.  The timing of it is the problem. So you can either setup the flow to assign the points for correct answers and calculate the total or increase the delay (I would suggest about 5 minutes) until you can reliably predict that the excel file will be complete.  A third possibility would be to trigger the flow on when the Excel file is modified instead of interacting with the form at all.
