How to Create a Draft Reply and Preserve the Original Email Conversation?

I am trying to build a Power Automate cloud flow with the following business process and would appreciate some guidance on the implementation.

Desired Workflow

  1. Trigger the flow when a new email arrives in a shared mailbox.
  2. Send the email content to an AI Prompt to generate a suggested reply based on a knowledge base.
  3. Create a reply email that includes the AI-generated response while preserving the original email conversation/thread.
  4. Save the reply as a draft in the shared mailbox's Drafts folder instead of sending it automatically, so staff can review and edit it before sending.

How can I implement this workflow in Power Automate? Could someone share the recommended flow steps or approach?

It should be possible to create a draft mail message with the Graph API. This is documentation about that method:

I have used this approach about 5 years ago.

For you setup it would be slightly different, but happy to answer any follow-up questions.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

I have one concern about this approach. If the original email conversation contains inline images (for example, screenshots or embedded images in the email body), will they be preserved when creating the reply draft?

From my previous testing, the inline images became blank in the draft reply, even though the rest of the email thread was preserved.

Has anyone successfully implemented this scenario while retaining the original inline images? If so, could you share the approach or the Power Automate actions used?
