Source URL not recognized in file creation step

Hi,

I'm automating compressing some photos and my flow has been great for the past month until last week. It has broken because in my upload file from URL step, it does not recognize the source URL. Weird thing is that the source URL is literally the dynamic URL output from the previous step: create thumbnail. The previous step is working fine, so why is it not recognizing that URL (since last week)? What can I do to make it work again.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Your attachments didn't come through yet.

The Url property is missing from the OneDrive Get file thumbnail action.

Unfortunately, this is currently a widespread issue, that I hope Microsoft will fix soon. I have a support ticket opened with Microsoft about this.

Thanks Ellis, I just noticed your thread earlier this morning! Thanks for the help, I hope that they will fix it soon. The suggested solution is not feasible for me unfortunately (company policy).

@AM-07070959-0 I did have a support call booked with Microsoft at 12PM (London), but no-one from support joined the call 😟.

@Ellis Karim I had a support call yesterday morning with @Jean Joel Kakou regarding my issue. They acknowledged that the issue was not in my flow but rather in the output of the create thumbnail step. They emailed me yesterday afternoon that they started to engage their product team for this behavior, and that they would get back to me once they'd have an update.

@Jean Joel Kakou is it possible to attach @Ellis Karim to the ticket as a viewer so they get updated as well?

@Ellis Karim I got a message today that they'll be working on this issue next week. They also know that it is not just my issue, but rather a bigger problem. Let's wait and see :)

    Thanks for the update!

I've now written up the workaround in a blog, with two different methods. Neither require premium connectors. May be the Graph API method may work for you?

    1.  The SharePoint method
    2.  The Microsoft Graph API method

    The Microsoft Graph API method:
A screenshot of a three-step Power Automate workflow. Step 1, "Get file metadata using path," targets a PDF file. Step 2, "Compose," contains a concat expression designed to build a Microsoft Graph API URL. Step 3, "Send an HTTP request," is configured with a GET method. A large red arrow indicates that the dynamic 'Outputs' from the Compose action are being passed directly into the URI field of the HTTP request.

Output from the Send and HTTP Request action:
Screenshot of a JSON response body from the Microsoft Graph API, highlighting a 'value' array that contains URLs and dimensions for 'large', 'medium', and 'small' document thumbnails.
