Creating a Teams Tab Using Power Automate

I'm getting inconclusive results from Copilot telling me that you can create a tab in a Team in Microsoft Teams but not finding the 'Create a Tab' action in Power Automate. Is it really a thing or am I chasing a Microsoft flavored, AI hallucination? I'm hoping I can do it without using the Graph API otherwise it completely defeats the point of the Power Suite if you can't embed a Power App when creating a Team using Power Automate (a really basic concept).

Creating Tabs is a rather convoluted process, not something you can do in a single Power Automate action.

    Hi @RobDin,

Do you have an example of what type of tab you want to configure in your Team?

This way we can help you out with a couple of examples.

You can also find some examples on the internet. For example Vesa Nopanen has shared a couple of blogs, this is one of them:

@Expiscornovus Thanks for your reply. I'm creating a Power App, that is first logged into through the Power Apps portal in which a user sets criteria to:
    1. Create a name and description of a Team in Microsoft Teams
    2. Select one to six specific channels to add to the Team
    3. Selects users from an internal list to add to the Team
After the criteria is selected in the Power App, the process is handed to a Power Automate flow that deploys it. At the end of the deployment process in my flow, I'd like the Power App itself to be added to each channel created in the new Team. The Teams channel delegation of where a user opens it will reflect a different state of certain screens in the Power App.

I find it frustrating that the Graph API is the only way to create the tab (which is apparently required) to add the Power App to the Team.

For now, you should definitely use the Graph API until Microsoft introduces the action for creating and managing tabs in Teams channels.

You can opt for the "send Microsoft Graph HTTP request" or the HTTP action. However, I recommend using the Teams action since it doesn't require you to have app registration.
