Connecting to Docusign and updating an item on a sharepoint list

I am creating the flow below and I am not an admin in Docusign, so I shared the flow with the IT person who has admin rights to Docusign and the Trigger still giving me the same error "User is no an account administrator". Any suggestion?

    Hi @Gustavo Cruz 9,

That error message — “User is not an account administrator” — is coming directly from the DocuSign connector, not from your flow design.

Here is the quick fix in the DocuSing community, please see the last comments by the reporter.

The DocuSign triggers in Power Automate (like “When an envelope is sent/received/completed/Changes”) require that the connection is authenticated with an account administrator role in DocuSign. Simply sharing the flow with someone who has admin rights doesn’t change the credentials under which the trigger runs.

Alternatively, instead of tying flows to personal accounts, create a dedicated DocuSign service account with admin rights. Build the connection with that account so the flow always has the required permissions.

So recreate the connection with admin account (or ask your admin to create a new DocuSign connection), also need Admin as the flow owner.

I am sure some clues I tried to give. If these clues help to resolve the issue brought you by here, please don't forget to check the box Does this answer your question? At the same time, I am pretty sure you have liked the response!

The Docusign trigger "When an envelope status changes (Connect) (V3)" works by creating a Connect Configuration (a webhook) inside Docusign. Docusign security only allows Account Administrators to create or modify these configurations.

To prevent this flow from breaking if you or the IT person leave the company, it is highly recommended to use a Dedicated Service Account that has Docusign Admin rights for all production flows.

    Hi @Gustavo Cruz 9,

I was just following up on this, are still facing  the issue or managed to solve it?

I am still trying to fix this problem. In addition to sharing the Power Automate to the admin, I have added the admin as the "connected" to account in the Trigger. Still it is not working.

     Hi @Gustavo Cruz 9,

Here is what I suspect -  adding the admin as the “connected account” in the trigger alone won’t resolve the DocuSign error.
Probably, that’s because the DocuSign connector enforces account‑level API permissions, not just user credentials. Even if the admin is connected, the connector call will still fail unless the account has the correct integration key and API role enabled in DocuSign.

    Let's try the following steps:
    • Verify DocuSign role - Log into DocuSign as the admin. Ensure the account has Account Administrator or API role enabled (From Permissions configuration section) .

    • Check the integration key- In DocuSign Admin → API and Keys, ensure the integration key is active and linked to the admin account. If missing, create a new integration key.

    • Reconnect in Power Automate - Delete the old DocuSign connection. Re‑add it using the admin account with API rights. Make sure both the trigger and actions in your flow use this connection.

Let me know if this helps.

thank you so much for all the responses. I was able to solve this by sharing the Power Automate flow with the Docusign admin, and in addition changing the connection in the "Connect" trigger.
