Differences in “Populate text field on web page” action behavior between devices

Hi everyone,

I noticed a strange difference in how the “Populate text field on web page” action behaves between different computers.
For the “Web browser interface” parameter:
On one machine, it appears as a variable input field, but on another, it is a dropdown list selection.
For the “Text” parameter:
On one computer, it recognizes variables when written as %VariableName%,
but on another machine, it only works if I write it as =VariableName.
I’d like to understand two things:
Why these differences occur depending on the device (e.g., version, settings, or environment)?
Whether these differences affect how the flow runs (e.g., variable parsing, runtime behavior).
Has anyone experienced the same behavior or know what causes this difference?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Those variable reference differences are the differences when you don't use Power Fx or if you do.  When you hit New and select Create a flow, there is a toggle for Power Fx enabled.  Once an automation is created you cannot change this, it is determined on creation.  So it sounds like you are opening different flow on the different machines or maybe one has a much older version of PAD from before Power Fx was an option.

Thanks for the explanation! I was able to confirm that the Power Fx option settings are indeed causing the differences. That cleared things up for me.
