Convert XLS to XLSX for PowerBI refresh

Hello,

I am trying to convert Xls to Xslx for the PowerBI dataset refresh from Power Automate. I followed Power automate forum discussion to rename the file from xls to xlsx but the file corrupts every time.

Please suggest to me an effective approach to convert xls to xlsx without any third-party paid services(Data Privacy issue).

Thanks in advance.

Convert XLS to XLSX for PowerBI refresh
Does anyone have an answer for this?  I have an automated excel report in XLS from a third party that I would like to incorporate to a Power BI report, but it does not allow the queries to refresh.  I can manually save the file each day or use Power Automate Desktop but I need this done early for my European counterparts - thus using Power Automate Desktop is out of the question.  Thanks!

    Hi Selva,

I think the only way you are going to achieve this is to copy the content from Excel using an Excel Script and then copy it into a new XLSX file.  If the original XLS was using a table, you could use the get rows excel action and then save to XLSX but without trying i'm not sure, does XLS support the Power Automate get table?
