but if i do the rename from the properties panel this will trigger the flow:-

so i need the flow to always run on folder rename,, any advice?

"Item" refers to an item in a sharepoint list. "File"  refers to a file in a sharepoint document library.

There is no trigger for "folder"  as far as I know. Please vote for an existing idea or raise a new one here https://ideas.powerautomate.com/d365community/forum/086dd68e-597f-ec11-8d21-0022482e8f9f

@lbendlin workflow treat file/folder the same,.. and this flow is been triggered if the folder rename is done from the properties panel. which means file cover files & folders also!!!!!!!

Turns out this is even weirder.

The trigger only looks at the meta data, not at the file / item contents.

So now the question would be - is the item/file/folder name field tracked for meta data changes? Potentially not?

@lbendlin i think your posts are not been related to my question, i do not want to trigger it if the content of the file is modified, i want to trigger it if the FOLDER NAME is changed...  where a folder does not have a content !!! and the File cover both File/Folder ...

Please read my responses again. I am explicitly stating that the trigger is only activated by meta data changes. The question is - is "item name change"  included in the trigger or not?  (My hunch is that no, it is not.)
