Series 1 - How to Use Excel as DataSource

Implementation Steps:

  1.  Generate an Excel like below and store it in your Local



  2.  Select all Rows and convert it to Table 

  3.  Once done , Login to One drive for Business then Create a Folder and Import this Excel


  4.  Now navigate to https://make.powerapps.com

  5.  Select Start with data


  6. Once the Page Gets loaded select External Datasource then select "EXCEL" as datasource

  7.  Validate Connection and Select the Excel Table 



  8.  For now i select Auto-generate Values so that it will create a new GUID Column to map between Excel and PowerApps



  9.  Once clicked on Proceed it will Create App with below operations
    1. Create
    2. Update 
    3. Delete

  10.  Now if you click New and enter all the details and click Save it will save to excel automatically


  11.  Click on Edit and Update the values

  12. Click on Delete the record gets removed form the Excel Automatically

    Conculsion:

    If you are having minimal number of operations you can easily use Excel as backend to perform operations
