UI Mirrored When Running Arabic RTL App in Power Apps Desktop

When I run my Power Apps application — built entirely in Arabic with right-to-left (RTL) layout — inside Power Apps for Windows (Desktop), the entire user interface appears horizontally flipped, not just the text.
The issue includes:
  • Arabic text rendered in reverse order (e.g., numbers and words flipped).
  • Buttons, containers, and screen layouts appear aligned as left-to-right, even though all Direction properties are set to "RTL".
  • The flow of navigation controls and UI elements is mirrored, including button placement and container layouts.
  • The problem persists even with correct use of:
  • LayoutDirection = Horizontal
  • Direction = "RTL"
  • TextAlign = AlignRight
  • Font = Font.'Segoe UI'
This behavior does not occur in the browser — the same app displays RTL layout perfectly in Edge and Chrome.
Tested Workarounds (no success):
  • Applied manual direction and alignment properties on all controls.
  • Tested with and without “Scale to fit” and layout aspect ratio options.
  • Used Modern layout containers and rebuilt screens from scratch — still flipped.
Attached: Two screenshots showing the mirrored UI inside Power Apps Desktop.
Request:
Is there a known issue with RTL rendering in the Power Apps Windows client?
Any planned fixes or reliable workaround?

Thank you!

UI Mirrored When Running Arabic RTL App in Power Apps Desktop

you're experiencing is a known issue with Power Apps for Windows (Desktop) when rendering apps built in Arabic (RTL) layout.

    🧠 Summary of the Issue

When running a Power Apps app with RTL layout (like Arabic) in the Power Apps Desktop client, the following problems occur:

    • The entire UI is mirrored, not just the text.
    • Arabic text appears reversed, including numbers and word order.
    • Buttons, containers, and layouts are aligned incorrectly (LTR instead of RTL).
    • This issue does not occur in browsers like Edge or Chrome — only in the Windows client.

This behavior has been confirmed by other users in the Power Platform Community thread .

✅ Workarounds (Until Microsoft Fixes It)

Unfortunately, there is no reliable workaround in the Windows client at this time. However:

    • Continue using the browser version (Edge or Chrome) for correct RTL rendering.
    • If you must use the desktop client, consider limiting RTL-specific features or adding a language toggle to switch to LTR temporarily.
    • You can also report the issue directly to Microsoft to help prioritize a fix.

📣 How to Report This to Microsoft
