Help, New 2 PA. Zip file Issue Trying to setup a flow to zip a text file with a timestamp name

Team,

I am in need of some help, like I said I am new to Power Automate. Our application generates a  timestamp named text file in a fold called store.
My task is what I can only imagine is super simple. Zip the text file in the Store folder and save the the zip file to the same Store folder. It will work with the exact name in the zip files but will not let me use *.txt to create the timestamp.zip. How do I get zip files to see a folder contains a *.txt and create the corresponding zip file?

Eventually I want to configure a flow to
Wait for a text file to be created in the Store folder> Zip the text file with the same name as the text file ( different each time ) > Mail the zip file> Move text and zip file to Archive folder. rinse and repeat

Again Very New to Power Automate
Thanks in advance

    Thanks for the response,
I have a network share called "Store"( \\<Network shared Drive>\Store ) that our application drops a text file in called Outage2025148101522.txt and this portion of the name is the time stamp Outage2025148101522.txt. what I'm trying to do is get the Zip files to create a zip file with the same name as the text document to the same location.

I would like to have the flow setup so that it will see the outage file created > Zip the file with the same name as the text file > Email the zip file > move both the text and zip to the archive folder on the same shared drive > wait for new file to be created.

This is all local, for this project we are not using SharePoint.

Can you please clarify what you mean by Folder? Are you referring to a document library with a folder in SharePoint or a Network Drive or Onpremise via Data Gateway?

It all is important to answering you correctly.

    For SharePoint
    1. Create an automate Flow
    2. Use the When a File is Created (Properties Only)
    3. Use the Get File Content action, using the file id from step 2

Then you can see in this video how to create the actual zip

    And done :-)

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey
