Power Automate - Building Flows

Am I on the right track?

Hi there!

I am very new to Power Automate and I built a flow to gather data from two different websites to compare it. I wanted to make sure I was on the right track conceptually for the most efficient and elegant way to build this flow.

I have two different websites I am getting data from on a team of clinicians, and I have to make sure the data from each website matches each other. Its a little complex because the data looks slightly different on each website so I have to standardize it before it can be compared to one another.

What my flow basically does is create an excel spreadsheet and also creates a series of lists for the data to be placed on. It then starts with the first website and loops through each clinician, extracting the data and adding it to an excel spreadsheet, and to a list variable. It then does the same with the second website. At the end of the flow, you're left with an excel that has all the data on it so you can save that for future use which is important. The harder part though is seeing if everything matches. Once everything is standardized in the lists, I used the "If" function to say if List x matches List y, then display a message (the message says they match). Then if list x does not match list y, then display a message that says that they don't match, and the flow is stopped until the user clicks OK, then it continues comparing the rest of the data.

Unfortunately, it does not tell you where the mismatch is, it only says which list there is a mismatch in. It would be even better if it somehow highlighted which clinician or data point had the mismatch. I am trying to roll this out to many other people who have no experience in power automate, so I'm trying to make the flow as elegant and easy to use as possible, but its proven difficult. My flow has 176 steps which seems very long.

I hope I explained this well, if anyone has further questions that could be helpful, please let me know. Would love to know if I'm on the right track with this.

Have you tried using CoPilot with PAD when you created this? It should provide some assistance with the mismatch problem.

hold up hehe, you said it waits for someone to click ok, but Cloud Power Automate cannot do that.

    Is this Power Automate Desktop?

I just want to move it to the correct place.
