Yes, the relationship exists and technically it is fine... but why then it does not provide any results
if you check the values inside the InspectionDateTime column you will see that the values are something like 3/24/2025 17:00 and if you go and check the date on dimDate, you will see that the values are something like 3/24/2025 00:00 will those values match? sorry, no they do not match because they are not equal. It is one field, date and time together, it doesnt matter if the date matches, if the time does not match, then the relationship cannot put them together.
the reason is the parking inspection datetime has a time stamp and the dimDate date has a time stamp of 12:00 or 00:00, so the system is trying to do an exact match of date (this part works) and time (this does not work) so there are no related records.
To fix it, on the parking inspections create a new DATE only column based on the datetime, then make a relationship between this new column and the dimDate date column.
This should work, it did for me as I had that same problem and yes, it took me a while to figure it out.
