Updating the Bot Version
Sometimes, Teams might be showing a cached version of the app. Try clearing the Teams cache:
Close Microsoft Teams.
Navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams on your computer.
Delete all files and folders in this directory.
Restart Teams and try updating the bot again.
Ensure that the bot has the necessary permissions to update. Sometimes, permission issues can prevent updates from being applied correctly.
Go back to Copilot Studio and re-publish the bot. Ensure that the version number is correctly incremented and that all changes are saved before publishing.
If your organization requires admin approval for app updates, make sure the new version has been approved by an admin in the Teams admin center. Refer to Connect and configure a copilot for Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn
Currently, there isn’t a built-in feature in Microsoft Teams to force users to update to the latest version of a bot automatically. However, you can encourage users to update by:
Send out a notification or email to users informing them of the new version and the steps to update.
As an admin, you can manage app updates and ensure that users are prompted to update. This can be done by:
Navigating to the Teams admin center.
Going to Teams apps > Manage apps.
Finding your bot and ensuring the latest version is available and approved.
Encourage users to uninstall and reinstall the bot to ensure they get the latest version. This can be communicated through a message or a guide.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be worth reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance, as there could be a bug or a specific issue with your setup, Teams - Copilot studio unable to Edit Bot (powerplatform.com).”
