Barcode Reader is only showing black screen on IoS 16.7.12

Hello,
 
I have been trying to use the barcode reader on my iphone 8 (with the latest ios 16.7.12). But it turns out the camera only shows black screen. 
 
I've read that this was a known issue a few years back. I have tried all the possible remedies. I have the latest Powerapps app, all my display settings are default, ... still nothing works.
 
Help would be highly appreciated. Thank you

    Hi 

    Yeah, this happens a lot on older iPhones with iOS 16. The old Barcode Reader control usually just gives a black screen. What worked for me was switching to the Modern Barcode Scanner or using the ScanBarcode() function instead. They run much better on iOS. Also double-check camera permissions in Settings just in case.
