PostgreSQL Connector Suddenly Stopped Working

Our PoweApps PostgreSQL connector to our Azure PostgreSQL database has been humming along for months. Today it stopped working, and I cant seem to troubleshoot it.
I'm getting this error:
Credentials are missing or not valid. inner exception: The PostgreSQL source doesn't support encrypted connections. (Source at <host>.postgres.database.azure.com;<db>.)

I can connect to the postgres database from the Azure Cloud Shell, and from DBeaver. But no combination of settings in the PowerApps connector seems to work.

Something must have changed recently. Any troubleshooting ideas?
The db is running TLS 1.3

I ran into the same issue, and it was resolved after upgrading PostgreSQL to version 18.

When I looked through the changelog for the PostgreSQL connector that I’m using, I noticed that Microsoft recently made some configuration changes to the connector. Those updates seem to have addressed the connection handling problem I was facing earlier.

After applying the update, everything started working normally again so it might be worth trying the same on your setup.

@oktovan we're facing the same issue - unfortunately our db upgrade won't be quick. I'm curious though where did you see that there were updates to the connectors and could you see what those updates were?

Actually, I’m using Logic Apps, and the PostgreSQL API Connection in Azure shows change details under Diagnose and solve problems. There, I noticed a change entry marked as “change by system”, showing a version update from releases/v1.0.1694 to releases/v1.0.1777 — timestamp 10/13/2025, 7:49:59 AM UTC.

The connection errors I experienced started right after that changelog entry appeared. Before upgrading my PostgreSQL server, I also tried testing the PostgreSQL connector in Power Automate, and got the same issue — the connector couldn’t establish a connection to the database.

As a best practice, you might want to create a test connection using a dummy database. You can even try it without encryption just for testing purposes, to help isolate whether the issue is on the connector or the database side.

Yep, upgrading fixed this for us. Cheers!
