Hi Team,

I had one query regarding the website authentication key usage in power pages site. When we press on the "update key" (screenshot 2) button in power pages site for updating website authentication key, the thumbprint get automatically added in the app registration (screenshot 3).

But here I do not want to make use of certificate thumbprints or client secrets. Is there any possible way of doing it using the federated credentials or managed identity?

Also, one thing I observed that federated credentials have been created automatically for the same certificate (screenshot 4), so will deleting the thumbprint is ok as federated credentials are automatically generated, or will it impact the application?

Hi SA-25100930-0

Federated credentials can replace thumbprints or client secrets. Managed identities are a great choice if hosted on Azure. Deleting the thumbprint is safe once federated credentials are fully functional and no longer dependent on the certificate.
