Creating a client document portal using PowerPages and SharePoint

Hi everyone,

I need to create a secure document portal for external clients to access. I want to use PowerPages and SharePoint.

Ideally, the clients will be able to sign in (we will issue them with login details) and they'll be able to view documents we have uploaded for them (thinking we upload docs we want them to see to a specific SharePoint folder, each client would need to have their own). I also want them to be able to upload other documents to this folder.

Microsoft is telling me this is possible, however i'm still waiting for any kind of coherent instructions for how to set this up.

Hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

Thanks!

    Hi @Fubar

I have implemented the Document upload with Power Pages and Sharepoint as suggested in this thread . Also I have implemented the download page where user can just download the document (hiding Add files button) using same Document Subgrid and users are able to download document by clicking on individual documents . Now I trying to extend this feature by adding a button on click of which all document present in the grid will be downloaded (instead of users downloading each document separately).

I am exploring javascript to achieve this functionality as we have files in subgrid which needs to be downloded

Kindly let me know if you have any pointers on how this can be achieved.

    Regards
    Kartik

    In very simplistic terms:
    • You enable SharePoint integration for DataVerse
    • If its for an Organization, then enable the SharePoint integration for the Account table
    • If its for the individual portal user then then enable the SharePoint integration for the Contact table
    • If both, then enable for both tables
    • Configure a form for the Portal user that has a Subgrid
    • Add Table Permissions to a Web Role the portal user uses
Details how to set it up are in this link

Portal user accesses via a configured Subgrid on a form (details are in the link above).

Once the SharePoint integration is enabled your internal users (note: will also need both Dataverse Security Role Privileges to Document Location table, and also permissions on the SharePoint side) would then go to the Account record, then under the Documents tab upload the respective files.
