I have a tool in Copilot Studio with three inputs, as shown in the image below. The third input (DocumentNumber) is dynamically filled by the AI.
When a user asks the agent to provide details about a document, the agent will prompt the user to provide the document number.
The question:
I want this (DocumentNumber ) input to automatically get the PR-006029 number without requiring the user to enter the document number again. I know Copilot has a custom prompt allows us to extract the document number in a text, but I want to use only this tool (not a topic) to display the document details. How can I extract the document number from the user’s text and pass it to the DocumentNumber input?
Note:
The docment numbers are various not they have the same format.

If you click customize next to the DocumentNumber field you can give it instructions in the Description field about how to extract the document number.
