Start Page Deleted!! Can it be restored?

Hi,

I had a startpage which was not so appealing so I created a new webpage with the help of co-pilot, assigned it under the existing one and deleted the old one. The new startpage , now the header and footer is broked and the new start page visual is all broken. How to tackle this issue? Do I need the out of the box header and footer code to bring back the old layouts?

Can the old webpage be restored?

Thanks!

Start Page Deleted!! Can it be restored?
    Hello   ,

Thanks for your question about recovering a deleted Start Page in Power Platform—this can happen accidentally, but Microsoft provides recovery options for Power Pages sites (which often include start pages) if acted on quickly. Deleted sites are typically recoverable within 7-28 days, depending on your environment type, via the Power Platform admin center or backups. If it's tied to a Power App or Dataverse, similar steps apply. I'll outline the process below.

    Recovery Steps
    • Check the Power Platform Admin Center:
      • Sign in to admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com with admin credentials.
      • Go to Environments > Select your environment > Recently deleted environments (or check Settings > Data management > View Deleted Records for Dataverse-linked items).
      • If the Start Page/site appears, select it, then choose Recover or Restore and confirm.
    • Reactivate Inactive Power Pages Sites:
      • In Power Pages portal (powerpages.microsoft.com), go to the Inactive sites tab.
      • Find your deleted site, click Reactivate, update the name/address if needed, and confirm. This restores configurations without recreating from scratch.
    • Restore from Backup:
      • In the admin center, under your environment > Backup & Restore > Select a backup from before deletion (e.g., auto-backups are kept for up to 28 days for production environments).
      • Choose Restore to a new or existing environment—note this may overwrite data, so back up first.
      • For Dataverse-specific records (if the page was data-driven), use View Deleted Records and restore individually.
    • If Not Found:
      • Use PowerShell: Install the Power Apps admin module, then run Recover-AdminPowerAppEnvironment with your environment ID (get via Get-AdminPowerAppEnvironment).
      • If beyond the retention period (e.g., >7 days for non-production), it may be permanently gone—contact Microsoft support via the admin center for assistance.
    Tips to Avoid Future Issues
    • Enable automatic backups and set retention policies in the admin center.
    • Use version history in Power Apps/Pages for quick reverts without full restores.
If this doesn't recover it or you need help with specifics (e.g., environment type or errors), share more details!

    Best Regards,
    Jerald Felix
