Bind a connection reference to a connection

Hello there,

I have a solution with a connection reference dataverse.
I have two dataverse connections.
I want to have a clean situation and bind all connection references dataverse to only one dataverse connection.
I cannot understand if there is a way to recognize which connection reference is tied to which connection

In my connection page
i see two connections authenticated with api-ext (see screen below). If I click on the three dots and I click on view details i can see the unique name of the connection (some thing like this)

When I edit the connection reference from the solution I get a list of connections,
The one used by api-ext are two connections, but I do not know which is the correct one.

I would like to know if there is a tool (Command Line, Old editor, Cloud editor) to see the unique binding between a connection reference and a connection.
Any help is appreaciated,
Thanks

From an Eyeball perspective, in your first picture click on the vertical ... and it will tell you what Apps and Flows its used in, although its using a Reference to get there

From an Eyeball perspective, in your Solution, if you click on your Connection Reference and click Details or Edit it will show what connection

You can Also Export our Solution
    Then open the zip file
Look at Customizations and solution XMLs, it will list the Connections and Connection references as they are being linked within your solution (whether in an App or a Flow)

You can build a PowerShell Solution to do this across solutions and connectors etc

If you want it for all your solutions?

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!

@Michael E. Gernaey thanks for the reply!

I export the solution as zip, checked everywhere, you get the name of the connection reference but not the name of the connection binded to it.
It seems like MS is hiding this info from us :(

I will try some powershell approach now. Any other suggestion/idea?

    You still have several options

    1. again you can click on your connection reference in your solution and click Edit and it will show you
    2. you can again, look at the connection Details as I mentioned and it will show you which flows and apps it is used for, which means you can see which connection references
    3. You can go to the flow and open the Action and you will see what its using

Its definitely not the most fun way to do it :-) but its all possible.

So let's say you have 2 connections and you look at References (dependencies on that connection)
Go into those Apps or flows and change the connection each action is using to the same one, so that it will use the same connection.
Once you update the connection references (assuming its not direct connections) they will disappear from that Connectors dependencies until its gone.

There are powershell ways and power platform admin flow actions etc to do some of this, but... in the end PowerShell is better.

    Hi @Dignus,

Go to your solution and follow these steps:
    1. Navigate to Connection References.
    2. Select a connection reference → click Advanced → choose Show Dependencies.
This will help you identify which flow is using which connection reference.

Next, open the relevant flow(s), update them to use the desired connection reference, and remove the one you plan to eliminate.

Finally, once the old connection reference is no longer used by any flow, you can safely delete it to keep your solution clean and organized

I hope this information helps! If it does, please consider giving a 👍.
    Best regards,
