PowerApps Agent integration

Hi guys,

I am trying to integrate a chat-like experience in a PowerApp Cavas App using the Power-App Copilot Control.
I was able to get the control on the screen, and I am able to see the chat.
However as soon as I give my agent a prompt, it never returns an answer.
FYI, I am developing and using the app from Switzerland.
Environment is set to Switzerland too.

This is the feedback I received from MS Support and attached error description:
I have thoroughly validated the network traces and identified some errors that need attention. It appears that the agent is currently communicating with the global endpoint, whereas it should be communicating with the Europe endpoint to function correctly.

Did you guys manage to get this to work?
And if so, do you see a way of copying an answer from an this chat window of the agent back into the app?
This would allow users to interact between an app and the chat experience way faster.

Many thanks for your feedback and help in this matter.
Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

What you’re seeing is a region limitation rather than something wrong in your app. The Copilot control for canvas apps is (currently) only supported for environments in the US region. Other regions, including Switzerland/Europe, run into exactly this RegionNotAllowed / wrong-endpoint behaviour.

So right now your realistic options are:

Create a US-region environment, move a copy of the app there and test the Copilot control, or

Wait until Microsoft rolls out this preview feature to Europe/Switzerland (no manual way to change the endpoint yourself).

Regarding copying the answer back into the app: the Copilot canvas control doesn’t currently expose the response text as a property, so you can’t reliably bind it to other controls. If you need that behaviour today, the usual workaround is:

Call your Copilot Studio agent via Power Automate or a custom connector from Power Fx,

Write the response into a label/text input/collection yourself, and

(Optionally) build your own chat-style UI.

Not ideal, but that’s the current limitation of the preview control.
