Redirect to "Add External Account" After MFA Login in Power Pages (Graph API User)

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue after creating a user via Graph API and logging into a Power Pages site using Azure AD B2C.

Here’s what’s happening:

  •

I’m creating a user in my Azure AD B2C tenant using Microsoft Graph API with the Member user type.

  •

The user is created successfully, and everything looks fine.

  •

When the user logs into my Power Pages site, they are prompted for MFA.

  •

MFA completes successfully, but instead of redirecting to the profile or homepage, they are sent to a page asking to “Add a new external account.”

  •

It seems like the system is treating the user as partially registered or expecting another identity provider to be linked.

Has anyone else faced this? Is there something I might be missing in the Graph API creation process or in Power Pages/AD B2C config that causes this behavior?

I’ve attached a screenshot of the “Add an external account” page for reference.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello,

Go into your Sign Up / Sign In user flow in Azure AD B2C, and under Application Claims, make sure to select the "Email Addresses" claim to be included in the token.

    Cheers 🎉
