Image optimization option cause images to be unintentionally rotated and lose EXIF data

Due to one of the latest updates of PowerApps, when the "Optimize Images for Upload" is enabled on mobile devices the resulting image is strip of almost all metadata what makes it lose EXIF info and consequently be rotated 90 degrees left by default. My application saves images to SharePoint for them to be later processed by a computer vision Algorithm, so it basically broke all my system as I need the images on the orientation they were taken.

Does anyone knows how to open a ticket for PowerApps dev team for them to fix the issue?

To report the issue with PowerApps stripping EXIF metadata when "Optimize Images for Upload" is enabled, you can open a support ticket directly with Microsoft through the Power Platform Admin Center. Here's how:

🛠️ Steps to Open a Microsoft PowerApps Support Ticket

    1. Go to the Power Platform Admin Center:
      https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com

    2. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 admin credentials.

    3. In the left-hand menu, click “Help + support.”

    4. Click “New support request.”

    5. Fill in the form:

      • Product: Select Power Apps.
      • Issue type: Choose the closest match (e.g., "Canvas App", "Media/Image Upload", etc.).
      • Environment: Select the environment where the issue occurs.
      • Description: Clearly describe the issue, including:
        • That enabling “Optimize Images for Upload” strips EXIF metadata.
        • The impact on your system (e.g., image rotation breaking downstream processing).
        • Any steps to reproduce the issue.
    6. Submit the request and await a response from Microsoft support.

🔁 Optional: Submit Feedback or Feature Request

If you believe this behavior is unintended or should be configurable, you can also submit it as a feature request:

    • Go to the Power Apps Ideas portal
    • Click “Submit an idea” and describe the issue and your proposed solution.

🏷️ Tag me if you have any further questions or if the issue persists.
✅ Click "Accept as Solution" if my post helped resolve your issue—it helps others facing similar problems.
❤️ Give it a Like if you found the approach useful in any way.
