We have the below configuration for a custom role in a Dataverse environment. We are trying to assign record-level permissions - Read Access for User A to Record 1. However, it is observed that User A also gains write and delete access to Record 1 along with Read Access. Is there any other config available to restrict user to only read the record?

For our requirement, we need User A to have read access to Record 1 and Edit Access to Record 2 within the same Dataverse table.

Hello @Nirenjana

Every record User A has access to either they own it or shared with then will get all permission(R, W, D) by default

Record 1 : User A can only read
Record 2 : User A can Read + Write

What can be done is Adjust the Security Role
Read = User
Write = None
Delete = None
Then, use Record sharing or Access Teams to grant write permission
Use access teams and owner teams to collaborate and share information (Developer Guide for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises)) | Microsoft Learn
