Can add solution in personal environment

I'm following an exercise in a module and need to add a solution in my own environment but the following error message displays.
 
"The database you are attempting to access is currently disabled. Please contact your system administrator." (image attached)
 
I tried using the default environment instead which worked but then I need to add a table to the solution but this option is greyed out.
 
Why can I not add a solution in my own environment?

    Hello,
     
    It doesn't sound like you have an actual Dataverse Database IN that environment.
     
    Make sure you are in your specific environment from the dropdown.
