Community Spotlight: Andrew Bibby

Community Spotlight is back with a new episode featuring Andrew Bibby. 🌟

 

Andrew is a Microsoft MVP for Business Applications based in the UK, with nearly 20 years in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. He's someone people turn to for advice on getting into community and public speaking. And over the past 4 to 5 years, he's helped build 11 user groups across the UK, with more on the way. 

What makes those user groups matter is who shows up.

"Lots of people that come to the user groups are the only person that does that in their organization, and then you find this family of people that they can come to and talk about those things." 

Andrew wasn't always comfortable in front of a crowd. "I used to be fairly introverted, shy, you know, not wanting to speak out, certainly not get up in front of people and speak." But years of involvement in user groups changed that. It gave him the confidence to present to customers, get on stage, and find his voice in his own career. 

When asked about the best part of being an MVP, his answer is immediate: "It's actually the other MVPs. It's a real supportive community. You've got this network of people around the world that you can turn to for advice and questions."
