Hello Everyone,

I have a PowerApps application, where I have entered details using form and viewing in the gallery. and the Datasource I am using is SharePoint, creating the lists.

For accessing the data in powerapps, we have to give all the users access to sharepoint site. which automatically give permission to view the list from sharepoint to all users.
I want to restrict the users editing and viewing permission but they should have access to create and modify record from Powerapps.
How can we implement this , so that no one can change any record from backend to make the details secure.

You can use Power Automate as a mediator between powerapps and sharepoint to achieve it.. Give permission to the user of powerautomate in the Sharepoint list to create and update.. The same goes with the retrieving as well..

Its an indirect task, but this should be one of the approach...

Hi @lisha

If you create a custom permission level in SharePoint based on Contribute, but with View Application Pages unchecked, the users should not be able to access any SharePoint view on the list. There are also ways of hiding the list - this video may be useful to you.

Hi Warren Belz,

Thanks for your response, but in this case if user has the link, they can able to view the list and have an option to update the data as well.
Is there any option we can remove the edit option and also restrict to view as well.

Hi @lisha

With those permissions, they should not be able to access any views whether they have a link or not. The other option is to "lock down" the list as per this blog of mine and have the default view filtered so it does not show any records they should not see.
