Unable to import a solution with a custom AI model

Hi,

I encountered an issue with importing a solution that includes a custom prediction AI model into a different environment. The error message I received was as follows:

Solution "test solution" failed to import: The dependent component msdyn_AIModel (Id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) does not exist. Failure trying to associate it with Workflow (Id=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) as a dependency. Missing dependency lookup type = PrimaryKeyLookup.

To isolate the problem, I attempted to import the solution again, but this time only with the custom AI model and excluding the flow. This attempt was successful in terms of importing; however, the custom AI model itself was not present in the target environment after import.

Any help or advise is much appreciated.

Cheers,
Jon

I solved my issue. I was moving the AI solution from me personal environment to Production. It did not work because I did not have any AI runs assigned to the personal environment. As soon as we assigned them the solution migrated successfully.

    Hi @VMK
Glad to know you had resolved the issue. Could you elaborate what you meant by having the AI runs assigned to the personal environment please? thanks

To deploy a solution with Cloud Flows that uses a Prompt connected to a Custom AI Model, you need to make sure that:

    1. The prompt (referred to as an "AI Model" in the UI) is added to the solution — use Add existing > AI Model.

    2. The AI Model Catalog, which are is in reality the Connection References to the Azure AI Fundry Inference used by the prompt, is also included — use Add existing > More > Other > AI Model Catalog.

Personally, I prefer to store the AI Model Catalog, along with all connection references, in a dedicated solution called “Shared References.” This allows them to be reused across multiple solutions and maintained from a single location.
