Hi everyone,
I’ve been working extensively with Power BI for project reporting and one thing keeps puzzling me — why doesn’t Power BI offer a free, native Gantt chart visual?
There are many great visuals out there like xViz, Deneb, Zebra BI, and I truly respect the innovation and quality they bring. But often, clients aren’t ready to pay extra for what feels like a basic project management need - a simple Gantt chart.
Not every team uses Microsoft Project or high-end PM tools. Many rely on Excel, P6, or other platforms, and need to visualize timelines directly in Power BI without additional licensing costs.
