Copilot agent cannot read .docx file

I dont know why the agent can only read pdf files and not .docx files. It could read .docx file few days ago but then something happened and since then i cannot read any .docx files i upload to the chat and it keeps refering to the knowledge source. it is so frustrating, i already enabled document upload toggle but it does not change anything.

Hi! I found the answer in the official Microsoft documentation.

Unfortunately, .docx files are not supported for file uploads in Copilot Studio. The supported formats are:

CSV, PDF, TXT, JPG, PNG, WebP, and non-animated GIF

So what you're experiencing is not a bug — .docx is simply not on the supported list. As a workaround, we recommend saving your Word documents as PDF before uploading them to the agent. That should work perfectly.

Hi @Beyond The Platforms , jumping in on this one. I have been experiencing the same issue this week where my agent can no longer read files that it use to be able to read. Code interpreter is turned on as well, and it says it should be able to read word files.

Why can it no longer do that?

For me I think the code interpreter somehow still works for certain .docx files. but not consistently all. So now if i want to ask the agent to read docx file it has to either be converted to pdf or txt file?
