Hi Community,

Can anyone please help me how to connect Power App to SQL without Premium Connection. I need to showcase million of data in Power App but the catch is without using Premium connection. Any suggestions or ideas are most welcome.

Regards,
Vignesh

If you mean SQL Server or Azure SQL? There are not a ton of options here as

    1) showcasing millions of rows... ummm.. I do not know how you plan to do that, I mean that pagination is going to be... horrible and I have not seen this scenario done directly from SQL (only dataverse) but hey... I am not even sure just with the statement I would recommend it as it seems you want to use a Canvas App since you are asking about a connector

    2) I am assuming you do NOT have Dataverse since you said no premium connectors, but if you did I would attach it as a Virtual Table and use the Dataverse Connector

I do not have any good solutions for this... nothing I would attempt anyway.

    Hi Michael Gernaey,

Thank you for your response. To elaborate the situation we are having SQL Server. I got an idea of creating instant cloud flow from Power App(Think it as Parent Flow) which is redirected to Child flow which connects to SQL DB, read the data and brings back the data in JSON format. Next from JSON format we can store the data in Collections and that collections will be mapped to Power App. Will this approach works. Please let me know your thoughts.

In addition to @Michael E. Gernaey's insights, you also need to be aware of the Microsoft Multiplexing Guide (the link is a PDF download). You can draw your own conclusions on the contents as I am not a licensing expert (far from it)

Thanks @WarrenBelz , who is correct... this sounds like a massive multiplex issue with this configuration.

Second, even if you do this, it doesn't stop the fact that (we have no ideas on how you plan to filter etc), but millions of rows is still... not by itself a good idea.

Need to understand the logistics of how you plan to show the data (is it always like all of it (not all but.. a portion)) and then you filter?

Going around licensing itself is not valid. Now if you are 10000% sure that ALL users have Premium licenses, then go for it, but otherwise, no, because while it technically can work it does not legally work.
