Generative Pages Edit Button

I'm following the video on making Generative Pages in the Plan Designer 2 Applied Skills Course - Video 5. All's going well until I get to the Edit button. Everything seems to work, but it doesn't update the information. It's the only thing that hasn't worked for me while creating this page and app. Here is the prompt that I used:

Add a button with an edit icon to the Check-outs and Check-Ins grids. When the button is pressed, display an Ok Cancel modal on the screen that allows the user to change these field values: Vehicle Name, Contact Name, Reservation Start Date, and Reservation End Date. If the user presses the OK button, save the changes to the Reservations table and Dataverse, close the modal and refresh the grids to reflect the updated changes. If the user presses the Cancel button, then close the modal and do not refresh the grids.

I did make some changes to the original because I was having issues with customers. It didn't like that term and wouldn't give me any data or just created new data not related to the Reservation Table.

I'd like to know how to fix this, so the next time it happens, I at least know what to look for.

Thank you,
Mona

Do none of the fields update after you click OK, or only certain ones? Does this include the Start Date and End Date fields as well? Do they work?

Also, did you do the additional step after that prompt to create the dropdowns?

    Thanks!

I've also had challenges with this section. Have been back and forth through the steps several times and tried starting from scratch, but something always going slightly wrong.

    1. One issue, which i've now resolved was the Check-In button not working. This was due to the Checked in value being wrong in the code

    2. For the check-out/in edit buttons, it initially didn't populate the vehicle name and customer dropdown options, which is now resolved. However, I'm stuck making the Vehicle Name and Customer fields to prepopulate with the current values and when clicking OK button data is not saved and updated. On a previous attempt I did have the Start and End Dates updating, but I never managed to get dropdowns to appear on that version.

Side note: On some attempts Copilot decided to hard code the values in for the dropdown, which you wouldn't guess if you don't look at the code screen.

    Hey guys.

Thanks for the feedback. In terms of Copilot hard coding (and hallucinating) the choice values, could you try to ask Copilot to use the global choice you created?

    Cheers,

    William
