PCF Controls - Option Set Value Persistence

Hello,

I have implemented a simple PCF control for option sets that allows makers to configure custom labels for the individual options in an option set, so that they can have flexibility for labels from form to form.

This component works on my model driven app but, but on Power Pages forms it fails to persist the option set selection on submit of the form and so the field is blank post submit. I have implemented my control in vanilla JS so there should be no issues around React support in Power Pages.

Please can someone tell me if this is expected behaviour or if I have likely missed some config. The documentation suggests option set PCFs are supported in Power Pages, but as far as I can tell it is only working in a read-only capacity.

Thanks

    Hi,

It sounds like the PCF is rendering correctly in Power Pages, but the selected value isn't being written back to the form during submit. If that's the case, I'd first verify that your control is correctly implementing getOutputs() and calling notifyOutputChanged() whenever the selection changes.

Also, while option set PCFs are supported in Power Pages, not all PCF capabilities behave identically to model-driven apps. A good test is to try the control against a simple Choice column and inspect whether the value is being submitted at all or if it's being lost during form processing.

Since the control works in model-driven apps but not in Power Pages, my suspicion is that there's a mismatch between the value being returned by the PCF and what Power Pages expects for persistence. If a standard option set control saves correctly on the same form, I'd focus on the PCF output contract rather than site configuration.

    Thanks & Regards,
