    Hi,

    Yes, that's accurate, the Delta Lake (Parquet) export option in Azure Synapse Link is being deprecated. To summarize the timeline from the notice:

    • October 15, 2026: New customers will no longer be able to set up the Delta Lake export option in Azure Synapse Link.
    • December 2027: Existing customers who are already using Delta Lake (Parquet) export must have transitioned away by this date, as the option will stop working entirely after that.

    The recommended path forward is Link to Microsoft Fabric, which Microsoft now positions as the primary way to get Delta/Parquet-format data with much lower sync latency than the old Synapse Link setup. If you're not ready to move to Fabric yet, the other supported option is switching to CSV output within Azure Synapse Link, but that's really meant as an interim step, not a long-term replacement for Delta users.

    A couple of practical notes if you're planning this out:

    • If you haven't started using Synapse Link yet, don't build new solutions on the Delta Lake export — go straight to Fabric link instead.
    • If you're already on Delta Lake export, start testing Fabric link in a sandbox now rather than waiting — the underlying folder structure and consumption patterns (Power BI, Databricks, etc.) do shift a bit compared to Synapse Link.
    • Microsoft has a dedicated transition FAQ and a "Synapse Link transition tool" (built by the FastTrack team) that maps your existing data shapes to Fabric, which is worth using if you have several environments to migrate.

    So to directly answer your question, no, this isn't a rumor or misreading, it's an official deprecation notice, and the clock on it is already running.

    Hello @JS-11091104-0 - As par the notification, new customers wouldn't be able to use Delta lake (Parquet) export option moving onward October 15, 2026. For existing customers, Microsoft giving them almost 15 months window to plan the migration. So for them, they have to migrate away till December 2027.
