Sharepoint images showing as guid or link

Hi all,
has anyone else noticed strange things happening to their images in image columns. Some of my images have disappeared from my app and when I check in Sharepoint, they show as something like the following. 5e648973-b7b-42db-84c5-68fc481c5a35.jpg. When I click on some of them in Sharepoint I get the full image preview. Has anyone else encountered such a thing?
Any help would be appreciated.
