Play button for model driven app in student library not working

While following the exercise on Load data into the School Library solution, I was not able to play the loans manager.
I need help.

    The reason why the play button is disabled is because it hasn't been published, as correctly suggested by WP.
     
    If you're in the Solution area, what I suggest is that you select the option to 'Publish all customizations'.

    That will ensure that everything is published and you shouldn't encounter any further issues with any of the apps.
