Output Limit on SharePoint Get items action

Hello.
 
I am creating a Copilot Studio bot to answer questions about personnel volunteer assignments we have stored in a SharePoint List.  Right now there are just under 200 items in that list.  While attempting to use an Action to call the "Get items" connector action, I noticed in testing that the Get items action only appears to be returning 100 items.  Normally in a Power Automate cloud connector we would have to enable pagination on that flow action.  Is there any way to do something similar from this Action feature of Copilot Studio?

    Yes as u mentioned in your question itself, the alternate method is to use Power Automate flow to get the required data.
     
    Instead of using the Action in copilot studio, we can call a Power Automate Flow that can help to fetch the data from SharePoint.
     
    • We need to User SharePoint connector in flow and query the required details.
    • Get the details by calling the SharePoint API and parse the result JSON.
    • Form a Table using the retrieved data.
    • Respond back to Copilot with the Table as Output.
    • Inside the Copilot Studio , you can specify a Generative Answer node and provide Custom dataset as Input. The Table output form Flow can be passed as Custom Dataset to the Generative Answer.
     
    By this way, we can get more accurate results in the Copilot response.

    The challenge I have with attempting to do the searching/filtering in a Power Automate cloud flow is that I would rather have the Gen AI LLM reason over the entire dataset.  If I try to use the SharePoint API to search my list (or use any other approach such as using AI Builder to guess the user's intent), I'm still not able to fully take advantage of the LLM's abilities.
     
    I'm now considering just passing the user's prompt to a cloud flow and use AI Builder's GPT abilities to consume the entire dataset.  However, this would then likely not permit me to take advantage of a continuous conversation context that you get when using the Generative Answers feature within the Copilot Studio session.
     
    I wish this were easier, or at least publicly documented with the various suggested approaches and their pros/cons.
