Business central MCP tool - connection error

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a persistent issue with the Business Central MCP (Preview) connector in Copilot Studio.

Problem:
Whenever I add the Dynamics 365 Business Central MCP (Preview) tool to my agent, I get the following error:

[{"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":0,"message":"An error occurred while creating the connection. Please try again or contact your administrator if the problem persists. Exception of type 'Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.Common.OData.Exceptions.ODataAuthorizationAlreadyProvidedException' was thrown."}}]

This results in "No tools found" and the MCP tools never load.

What I have already tried:

  • Deleted all Business Central and MCP-related connections from Power Automate / make.powerapps.com multiple times

  • Deleted and re-added the MCP tool several times

  • Created a completely new agent and added the MCP tool again

  • Waited for cache to clear (more than 20–30 minutes)

  • Tried in Incognito mode

  • Changed Authentication mode to Maker

  • Verified that the MCP configuration is Active in Business Central and validation succeeds

Even after doing all of the above, the same error keeps coming.

Has anyone faced this ODataAuthorizationAlreadyProvidedException with the Business Central MCP connector before? Any known fixes or workarounds?

Based on the symptoms and the exception, this does not appear to be caused by an incorrect Business Central MCP configuration.

The error occurs before tools are discovered, indicating that the Business Central MCP (Preview) connector is failing to establish its Power Platform connection,

most likely due to a connector-side issue or a preview limitation. At this stage, a Microsoft support case is the most appropriate next step, as they can inspect the

backend connector logs that aren't exposed through Copilot Studio.

    Hi,

In case all permissions are correctly set, you can try to remove and add the MCP server. I have seen similar issues with the Dynamics 365 F&O MCP server. The described workaround worked at that time.

Hi, I am also facing similar issues. I keep reporting this to Microsoft but no luck. I have tried clearing all my connections and re-establishing a new connection. I still see that the tool fails whereas on the classic experience it works seamlessly.
