How to highlight 'unread records' in a gallery

Hi there,

I have a screen that contains a gallery on the left, and the selected record information on the right.
The screen also contains a button that, when pressed, adds the logged in user's initials to a text box on the screen.
These initials indicate that the user has read the record.
I'm trying to highlight records that don't contain the current logged in user's initials.
Basically, when a user opens the app, I want any unread/uninitialed records to be a different colour.

I've been playing around with the TemplateFill property, but have had no luck.

If someone has any suggestions, I would be eternally grateful!

Amber

    Create a global variable for the user initials App › Run OnStart

    Set(
        varMyInitials,
        With(
            { names: Split(User().FullName, " ") },
            Upper(
                Left(First(names).Result, 1) &
                Left(Last(names).Result, 1)
            )
        )
    );

    You specified there is button so on the Button -> OnSelect property, append the current user’s initials and compare the value accordingly.

    This one is actually easy enough.

    In the TemplateFill Property of the Gallery (I do not know your textbox input name but)

    (Use .Value or .Text depending if you use Classic or Modern Control)

    If(IsBlank(ThisItem.TextBoxName.Value), Color.X, Color.Y)

    Where Color.X is the color you want it highlight if blank, Color.Y would be either the default (which you could grab before you change the Template fill or some other color)

    If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey
