Making Datacard DisplayMode View when accessed Form is accessed by User().Email

Hi,

I'm a bit confused as to why a Form in a PowerApp is displaying DataCards in View Mode for me but not for others??

The Form is accessed via a link that is within an Email.  This opens the specific record in the app for that user to perform a task.  The person is identified by an update to the Form and this triggers a Flow to send the Email.

This is the formula for the Datacard DisplayMode property

This is the Form.  The Form is triggered when Escalated = Yes.  A dropdown appears with a selection of people who this can be escalated to.

They then get an email

Select the link and takes them to the record.

All the fields (DataCards) are displaying in Edit Mode.

The only part of the Form that should be Editable are, 'Update Record' button and the 'HR Outcome' field.  DisplayMode property for these are Parent.DisplayMode

There are a couple of options, but the easiest one would be to validate the data itself.

So, I would simply put a label on the screen in the label (where you are trying to set the display mode)

I know this looks weird but please type it exactly in the labels Text/value property

    --User.Email--EscalatedEmail_txt.Value--

And verify that there are no spaces and or that you need to do a convert to lower for instance on both due to case issues.

This will show you quickly why the comparision is failing.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey

    Hi,

    Thank you for you response.

I've added a label and added the formula as detailed above.

    I'm getting an error message
