Hello,

I'm getting the following error when patching to a Dataverse table from a canvas app even though the column is optional.

The error does not explain what column, but by process of elimination I think it is the CorrectionSubType field.

It is set to Optional.

Not sure that this will provide any clue but below is a portion of the patch statement that includes this field.

Obviously if I submit without this field filled in, there would be no value to send.

        CorrectionSubType:Table(
            {
                '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.optionSetValue",
                 Value: ComboboxCanvas1.Selected.Value

How can I troubleshoot to determine why Dataverse is expecting a value for this column?

Unfortunately pictures are not working so we cannot say what you posted. However to verify the field for sure please do this. It will 100% tell you which field.

Since you said its optional, then there isn't a reason for the back end (which is what is telling you this, not the app) to say it, unless you haven't published all customizations AND refreshed the Data in the App, then you might have this. SO check that.

Otherwise do these steps and it will tell you exactly what field.

Please follow these steps to look into Live Monitor for possible errors

1. Please go to PowerApps.com in the environment published
2. Please click the Apps menu option on the left
3. Find your App in the list and Click the ... at the end
4. Click Details ==> Live Monitor
5. Once it opens up, click Play Published App
6. When that Tab Opens, Play your App, Cause the issue
7. Go back to Live Monitor Tab
8. On the right side, click the Properties (its vertical) to open the right side window
9. In the Filter (Top Right) Type Error
--See if you have any errors
--if so, please scroll through them, real errors cause 4 lines (usually) of errors
----one of the 4 lines will populate the Properties window with 4 Tabs

10. Grab the Response Tab
11. Expand the Headers and Body Sections
12. See if you can share or understand the error

Hi ,

Is CorrectionSubType a multi choice column?

if it is single choice column you can directly use comobobox1.selected.value given that the items for this control is Choices(CorrectionSubType)
