Hi All,

I have a simple single page demo site. Its purpose is to help me work out why my Search function (in another instance) does not include results from my Home page.

I have two questions:

How do I get the Power Pages Search function to also look at HTML page content?
How do I get the Power Pages Search function to also look at Content Snippet content?

My simple Site looks like this (not the work “environment”):

When I use Search, nothing is returned:

Hello,

By default, the out-of-the-box Power Pages search only indexes structured Dataverse content (like tables exposed via lists or forms). That’s why your HTML page text and content snippets aren’t showing up.

HTML page content → The portal search doesn’t crawl static HTML. To make it searchable, you can either:

Store that content in a Dataverse table (e.g., Web Pages with searchable flag turned on), or

Use Azure Cognitive Search integration, which can index raw HTML/page text.

Content snippets → These also aren’t included in OOB search. Same approach: you’d need to expose them through Dataverse in a searchable way, or leverage Azure Search to crawl them.

So in short:

👉 OOB search = Dataverse data only.

👉 To search HTML or snippets = either restructure content into Dataverse entities or extend with Azure Search.
