List component filtered on Parent Record ID

I have a Power Pages web page called that has a simple form and a list component on it to display some child records.
  1. User selects edit action to open the web page (and pass the parent record in in query string)
  2. The form displays a summary of the parent record (based on record source type parameter = id).
But the list displays ALL the child records for ALL the parent records (not filtered by parent record).
I want to be able to filter the child records by the parent record using the parent-child relationship like a subgrid control. But I need to use list features like view and edit actions on the child records.  Surely this is a very common requirement, I can see similar posts on the forum but no answers to this.
The parent record ID is passed to the page in query string and I can get it in liquid script.  The parent record is not account or contact so I can't use the Lists>Filter Conditions to do this (and lists do not have a record source type property).

Am I missing a configuration setting for lists or do I need to do some custom filtering?  If there is no configuration for this then is it possible to add the parent id clause to the list view (fetchXML) when the page loads (e.g. in red below).  How do I access the fetch xml used by the view in liquid script?  A code example would be great

List component filtered on Parent Record ID
I have just realised that I can add the subgrid to the form metadata, and add actions there just like the list component (although not the new improved list component).  This does exactly what I want.  I was spending too much time in the power pages maker environment, needed to look at Power Pages management to find these settings, lesson learnt :)
