Blocking Unmanaged Customizations

Hello, I am wondering if I should block unmanaged customizations within my production environment. My production environment is already managed but I understand someone can add an unmanaged layer that overrides the managed layer.

The only reason I am hesitant is because of the known limitations found here. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/alm/block-unmanaged-customizations#known-limitations

I still want to be able to use desktop flows and dataflow and am concerned those features will be disabled, does anyone have experience with this?
