Anyone else having issues using SharePoint.Thumbnail.Large in their apps in image controls? It just stopped working overnight and I doubt it's just my tenant?

I just ended up rolling with 'link to item' which originally wasn't working due to SharePoint token. That's the downside of using link to item vs. thumbnails you have to have a seperate SharePoint session active in browser for the images to download properly. Sucks but it's better than nothing for now.

Hello @cwebb365 - As per the following documentation, the images are temporarily cached. Images that have been cached for a long time may be removed and regenerated on demand.
Additionally, Power Apps generally refreshes metadata every 30 seconds. You might also want to select the ellipsis (...) and manually refresh the data source to see if that resolves the issue.

If my suggestions are helping you or giving you a clue to further investigate the issue, then please mark them as verified. This way you're also helping the community members to quickly navigate the resolution.

This has nothing to do with cache. These are new files that have been uploaded and it's literally been working for 7 + years without issue.  The URL's generated from thumbnail.large etc. are just dead. New apps with SharePoint data source, connect to a document library with .jpg's. Add image control in a gallery and use thisitem.thumbnail.large and that should reproduce the problem assuming it's an issue across everyone.

I've setup a fresh test app and same issue.

Your observation on ‘Link to item’ is relevant also as it does also not work on mobile devices due to the requirement that the URL needs to be “anonymously” resolved. The Thumbnail syntax is still working fine for me here. (Australia - so I do not know if this is of any assistance), however I use
    ThisItem.’{Thumbnail}’.Large

Please Does this answer your question if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider answering Yes to Was this reply helpful? or give it a Like

Hello @stingray - It seems this could be a region-specific issue, as @WarrenBelz confirmed in the same thread that it is working absolutely fine for him in Australia.

At this point, I would suggest raising a support ticket with Microsoft for further investigation.

I've got a ticket in, but as usual you get a response with some questions within 4 hours, you respond with overwhelming evidence it's a Microsoft Problem then crickets for days. And I bet I'll get more questions that are irrelevant soon. lol

This is usual service protocol 🙃 @cwebb365 - But please post an update as soon as you're able to resolve.
