Filter Display Lists Based on Many-to-Many Relationships (Low-Code/No-Code)

Hello Community,

I have two tables, Contacts and Courses, in Power Apps with a many-to-many relationship between them.

I am displaying a list of Courses in Power Apps portals/power pages, and my requirement is to sort/filter courses assigned based on the logged-in or current portal user.

Preferably using low-code/no-code solutions, but using code is also acceptable.

The solution is needed as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

For a low-code approach, the recommended solution is to use Table Permissions in Power Pages.
Since you have a many-to-many relationship between Contacts and Courses, you can configure a Table Permission on the Courses table that is scoped through the relationship to the logged-in Contact. This ensures users only see courses assigned to them, and the List component will automatically respect those permissions.
    Benefits:
    • No custom code required.
    • Secure, server-side filtering.
    • Works with Lists, Forms, and other Power Pages components.
If Table Permissions don't fully meet your scenario, you could also use FetchXML with a link-entity to the intersect table and filter by the current contact, but I'd recommend trying Table Permissions first as it's the standard Power Pages approach for user-specific data access.

    Thanks & Regards,
