I can't seem to find a way to train an agent from a private, login-only web site. (follow up)

Jerald,  thanks for the detailed response about agent access to a private web site..   Before I start celebrating,  however:
  • Will I need more than simple login credentials,  that is a login name and password,  to make the custom connector work ?   and
  • Will this connector suffice to enable adding the private web site as the (only) "Knowledge" source for this agent ?
The idea is simply to have something that works like the  studio  template "Website Q&A" but to use a private web site instead of a publicly accessible one.

What are my odds ?

It appears you asked a question somewhere, but I do not see a link to that question /. answer you mention Jerald.

    So, let's answer one question

    1. Custom connectors require to use whatever connection credentials are necessary to access whatever a person or service in a browser etc would need to access the information. If the information is in a place where the user needs a license, then you still will need a license as multi-plexing (if its specifically Microsoft platforms) you have to avoid.

    2. Separating your other question into 2 parts

    a) Can this connector be used to add the Private Website - Yes
    b) Can it suffice as the only Knowledge
--the answer to this is Yes, It depends and let me explain

Let's say you only want answers from that source, it means 3 things
---If you do NOT add anymore sources, if you turn off Public Sites and block all the options to access external data or Gen AI to try to figure its own answers out, then yes
---If you use Topics and in the topics use Create Generative Answers, you can specify just that it only uses that Knowledge source
---You can use instructions that nothing gets answers except through this Knowledge source

So the answer for #2 is yes you can use only a single source to try to answer everything.

Will it work well, I have no idea as I have no idea what the data is, how its stored, or the questions that will get asked, but it should have no issues as long as you do it all correct.

So yes, my answers (in conjunction) with that other thread answers your questions

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey
