Can’t publish Power Apps — “Publish this version” does nothing

Hi all,

I’m having an issue publishing my canvas app. When I go to File → Publish → Publish this version, the confirmation popup appears, but when I click the button nothing happens. The app just stays in the editor and no new version is published.

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Saved the app first, then tried publishing again

  • Restarted laptop

  • Restarted with F5

  • Tested with “Save As” (new copy of the app) — same issue

My collegue can publish the same app so I am thinking this is an account issue. Despite all this, the Publish action never completes. Has anyone else run into this behavior? Are there known bugs that can silently block publishing?

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Do you have "System Customizer" or "Environment Maker" role, or a custom security role in the environment?

What is the role you having?

Check with you other team member for whom publish is working, check with power platform admin team and ask them provide roles for you.

If you having PP admin access you can directly provide the permission.

    Navigate to the URL

Select the relevant environment  and click on the settings.
